Lanarkshire Pride returns to Hamilton town centre on Saturday 1 August, bringing together entertainment, community activity and LGBTQ+ visibility for a vibrant and welcoming day on Quarry Street.
Now in its fourth year, Lanarkshire Pride has grown into one of the area’s biggest community celebrations. This year’s free event will run from 10am until 4pm and will include live entertainment, an outdoor bar area, market traders, community organisations, information stalls, speeches and the annual Pride march through Hamilton town centre.
A full day of entertainment and community activity
The Pride market will open from 10am, with the outdoor bar opening at 11am and live entertainment beginning from 11.30am.
Headlining this year’s event will be Cheryl The Queen, who reached the final four of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and has since performed across the UK and internationally.
Cheryl will be joined by a programme of performers, speakers and community contributors throughout the day, creating a lively event that celebrates Lanarkshire’s LGBTQ+ community while providing space for local organisations to connect with the public.
Visitors will also be able to browse a range of independent market stalls, meet local community groups and find information about support, activities and services available across Lanarkshire.
Join the Lanarkshire Pride march
The Pride march is one of the most important parts of the day, bringing LGBTQ+ people, families, friends, community groups, organisations and allies together to walk proudly through Hamilton town centre.
The march will begin forming from 1pm and will leave at 2pm.
Everyone is welcome to take part. You do not need to belong to an organisation or group—simply come along, bring your flags, banners and best Pride energy, and march with us.
The march is a joyful demonstration of community and solidarity, but it also helps ensure LGBTQ+ people remain visible across Lanarkshire. At a time when many people continue to experience isolation, discrimination or uncertainty, that visibility remains incredibly important.
More than one day
Lanarkshire Pride is organised by Lanarkshire Pride CIC, a grassroots LGBTQ+ organisation rooted in the local community.
Although the annual Pride event is a major moment in our calendar, our work continues throughout the year through Pride Connect, our programme of regular social and support opportunities for LGBTQ+ young people and adults.
Pride Connect provides welcoming spaces where people can meet others, build friendships, access support and feel part of their local community. The programme reflects the wider purpose of Lanarkshire Pride: helping LGBTQ+ people feel connected, supported and less alone.
